In our every-changing world, the development of a globally informed citizenry is more important than ever. As thought leaders in our field, we dedicate ourselves to creating a global community by delivering vital foreign affairs perspectives, especially for the students that will one day become our world’s leaders.

Academic WorldQuest

Under the leadership of Trustee Henry Sauvignet, the Council has invested our scholarship fund with the San Antonio Area Foundation. We have committed to offer four (4) $2500 scholarships annually to current students pursuing a degree in International Studies or Foreign Languages at a local college or university.

Arranged by the World Affairs Councils of America, Academic WorldQuest is a team competition that engages more than 4,000 high school students annually across the United States to test their knowledge of global issues and foreign policy. Each year, the winning team of our San Antonio local competition travels to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Carlos and MalĂș Alvarez Academic WorldQuest National Competition.
