Join the World Affairs Council of San Antonio on March 5, 2020 for our annual International Citizen of The Year Award dinner, where we will be celebrating Gordon Hartman. A native San Antonian and philanthropist, Hartman began his career at 15, owning his own landscaping business, which expanded to a land development company. By 1983, Hartman build housing for low-to-moderate-income families. Since then, his company grew into the largest locally-owned home building and land development enterprises in San Antonio. In recognition of his business success, he earned membership in both the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame and the Texas Hall of Fame.

In 2005, Gordon sold his companies and established The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, in pursuit of his families dream of helping children and adults with special needs. Their daughter Morgan was their source of inspiration, born with cognitive and physical challenges. Over the past decade, Gordon has been recognized for his amazing design and ingenuity in opening multiple non-profit fully-accessible theme parks for special-needs individuals. Morgan's Wonderland, Morgan's Inspiration Land, and STAR (South Texas Area Regional) Soccer Complex are just a few outstanding accomplishments that have gained recognition by millions of U.S. and international guests. The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation has already raised over $50 million for the betterment of those with special needs.

Our keynote speaker will be Ambassador Roman Popadiuk, former first Ambassador to the Ukraine. Roman Popadiuk is a retired member of the career Senior Foreign Service.
