A graduate of UCLA and Loyola Law School, Patricia Diaz Dennis is an attorney whose career has been an inspiration to Latinos and women in her profession and beyond. Now, she contributes her expertise, passion, and values to a variety of boards, both corporate and nonprofit.  Patricia, the first woman and Latina associate hired by the prestigious Paul Hastings law firm in Los Angeles, has also held executive positions at AT&T which brought her and her family to San Antonio.  In government, she held three Senate-confirmed presidential appointments as a Member of the National Labor Relations Board, a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission, and Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs. Patricia is a strong believer in giving back. She has led several non-governmental organizations, including Girl Scouts (where she served as Chair and Vice Chair of Girl Scouts of the USA), and currently chairs the World Affairs Council of San Antonio.  She and her husband, also an attorney, have three children, two of whom married attorneys (their grandchildren have not yet chosen a profession). Patricia came and spoke to an audience at Backyard on Broadway about her life and her as career as an attorney working in the Public and Private sectors this year.
