Often, the culture or government of LGBTQ immigrants and refugees’ home countries encourage or promote the abuse and persecution of these individuals. Many joined the World Affairs Council and the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce to hear from people who have participated in humanitarian efforts aimed at helping these people find safety in a new nation.
